If a driver cancels a booking more than 24 hours before pick-up, they will receive a refund for their booking less a £25 fine. If the cost of the booking is less than £25, no refund will be paid. If a driver cancels a booking less than 24 hours before pick-up, they will not receive a refund and the owner is entitled to their full revenue for the booking.
All refunds will clear into your account within 5 working days of being processed however this may vary depending on your bank.
If an owner cancels a booking more than 48 hours before pick-up, they will be charged a cancellation fee of £25. If the booking is cancelled less than 48 hours before pick-up, they will be charged a cancellation fee equal to the total cost of the booking paid by the driver (with a maximum fine of £50). hiyacar will retain £25 of each sharer cancellation fine to cover administrative costs, and the remainder of the fee is issued to the driver as voucher-based compensation.
On occasion, it may be necessary for hiyacar to carry out a booking cancellation. These cancellations and any associated fines are assessed on a case by case basis.
