As of the 1st March 2023, owners will need to purchase their own breakdown & recovery policy that covers the vehicle and any driver. You may choose a provider of your choice or take advantage of a heavily discounted policy from the AA which will cover the car for private use as well as when it is on a booking with Hiyacar. The cover includes Home Start as well as recovery to any UK destination.
The discounted cost is £40.18 per vehicle per year, reduced from £207.50.

Select the National Recovery (Relay) option and the price will reduce to £40.18
Press continue and finish the purchase
If owners do not wish to purchase this type of policy then they will receive 60% of the rental revenue instead of 70%.
Recovery mileage is a significant cost to the business and it is unsustainable for Hiyacar to continue to pay these when the main cause is generally wear and tear of owners' vehicles.
